ACME (ACoustic Measurement Environment) is a multi-purpose acoustic measurement and analysis tool. It provides tools for measuring, a signal generator, power spectra and sound level analysis.

Key features

  • DAQ control and readout
  • Sound level meter functionality
  • Frequency domain analysis: transfer function estimator and bode plot generator
  • µZ impedance tube analysis and control
  • Plotting, comparing and exporting of data

Use cases

ACME has many use cases. From our own experience we have used ACME for:

  • Frequency response measurements of micro-speakers
  • Insertion loss measurements of concentric tube silencers
  • Tuning of a Helmholtz resonator for mitigation of a thermoacoustic instability
  • Analysis narrow band signal powers
  • Analysis of unstationary noise
The built-in functionality allows for exporting the raw measurement data, for if you do require a custom analysis. The file format in which we store measurement data is well documented. Both raw data, as well as analysis results can be exported to a variety of formats.

For an extensive overview of ACME's functionality, please have a look at the user guide.
